To provide assurance to students who either intend to enroll in psychotherapy training or who are currently enrolled in psychotherapy training the Board has advised that any student who enrolls in one of the "current Board approved qualifications" (see above) by March 2012 will have their qualification recognised for registration.

Please find attached a consultation from Psychotherapists Board of Aotearoa New Zealand (the Board) regarding an increase in Annual Practising Certificate Fee for the 2009/2010 Annual Practising Certificate Year.  Also attached you will find the Board’s budget for 2009/2010/2011 and 2012.  These budgets will highlight the necessity of an APC fee increase.

The Board must to be fiscally responsible. 
This includes:
 -  Repaying Board loans
 -  Covering Board operating costs.
 -  Budgeting for at least 2 serious disciplinary cases per year (reasonable and sensible).
 -  Having a fiscally responsible cushion (reserve)

This consultation is to seek constructive feedback on the $300.00 increase necessary for the Board to fulfill its function under the HPCAA - protection of public health and safely.

This is a public document so please pass this onto anyone who may be interested in commenting.  The Board hopes to reach as many people as possible during the consultation period.  Where possible we encourage you to place this consultation document on your websites and where possible table it at your meetings.  This information is also available on the Board’s website www.pbanz.org.nz
